About Dr. Spalding

Alexis Spalding, PsyD CADC-I (she/her/hers)
Licensed Psychologist, PSY35450

Dr. Spalding’s approach is sincere and direct. She is known for holding the gravity of addiction with both lightness and curiosity.

Dr. Spalding completed her master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant University in the San Francisco Bay Area (APA-Accredited). She obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Sonoma State University and is a certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC-I) through the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals.

Dr. Spalding has been working in substance use treatment since 2014. Her experience includes residential and outpatient treatment settings across all of the Bay Area. She completed an APA-Accredited Internship and Post-Doctoral Residency in Addiction Medicine and Recovery Services at Kaiser Permanente and is currently staff psychologist.

Dr. Spalding’s specialties include substance use, co-occurring conditions, impacts of minority stress, LGBTQIA+ populations, and the unique recovery needs of young adults.

About Dr. Porter

Meredith Porter, PsyD (she/her/hers)
Licensed Psychologist, PSY29637

Dr. Porter is an experienced, grounded, and impassioned licensed clinical psychologist specializing in chemical dependency, addictive behaviors and compulsions, anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, depression, grief and loss, chronic pain, end-of-life care, mental health impacted by the onset of medical conditions, and culturally-informed practice.

Dr. Porter received her BA degree in Theology and Philosophy from Boston College. She has a MA and PsyD in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute. She has studied at Rhodes University in South Africa in African History and Theological Studies. Dr. Porter’s predoctoral training took place at an APPIC-accredited site, where she provided MediCal services in-home to families and children involved in the court system. 

Dr. Porter's work experience began over 20 years ago in social services, including shelter-based care and hospice work, and led to clinical work in correctional and residential treatment settings. Dr. Porter has worked in hospital settings in psychiatric and addiction medicine departments for over 10 years, and she provides clinical supervision for predoctoral interns training in addiction medicine. Dr. Porter’s other certifications include:
